    ओं मधुसूदनाय नमःōṃ madhusūdanāya namaḥ

    Points to Madhu

He is the Ruler of all, the Giver of life and life itself, the Eldest and the Best. He is the Lord of creatures and the golden seed of creation, He holds the earth within Him, and He is Mādhava, the Spouse of Śrī, and Madhusūdana, the slayer of Madhu.

Bhāvam

The names turn from rule to life, and from life to age and worth: the Eldest, the Best, the Lord of creatures, the golden seed. The verse ends on two names of nearness, the Spouse of Śrī and the slayer of the demon Madhu, so that the vast Ruler is named last as the One who is with Her and who protects.
